Banyuls Sur Mer...

Section 5 finished 15:20hrs Thursday 11th September. Characterised by amazing ridge-walks, the two nearly 3,000m peaks Carlit and Canigou, friendly and small refuges and gites, relaxed evenings. More good weather with only half a day of light rain on the Canigou 11hr day. Massive storm the whole night of arrival at BSM, rivers of water flowing through the streets, lightning show all the better from a safe distance.

Pack and trainers at the beach, baguette the essential accessory. 42 days of walking, six jars of nutella, 50,002m vertical ascent, never want to see dried fruit again, approximately 1,030km's from Hendaye to BSM, including the stage 3 additional detour of about 70k's. 1.5 pairs of trainers.

Thanks for sharing my journey, hope you've enjoyed the photos and not too many words. It has been a truly amazing trip - see some of you (NZ) in early October. Will update photos in next few days. Video highlights to follow...
